HMSHost Brings Sean John To ATL

July 02, 2009

The first Sean John airport boutique is showing its style at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL).

Thanks to an alliance between music and entertainment Sean Combs and HMSHost Corp., the store selling Sean John’s signature denim, sportswear, suits, fragrances and accessories opened June 18.

“Atlanta is a very strategic market for Sean John, so we are thrilled to announce the opening of our first travel boutique at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” says Dawn Robertson, Sean John president. “We are especially proud to partner with industry leader HMSHost, as we believe the travel retail arena offers Sean John a huge opportunity for growth, and the exposure to international travelers is an added bonus. And, given our extensive men’s lifestyle offerings from fashion to fragrance, we can truly create an exciting shopping experience for the customer.”

The 1,000 sq. ft. location, located in Concourse B near Gate 26, is reflective of the company’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York, N.Y.

“We are happy to announce the opening of Sean John at Hartsfield-Jackson,” says John Cugasi, concessions director. “This is an exciting opportunity to provide our 250,000 daily passengers with one of the leading brands in the fashion industry.”

Joan Ryzner, senior vice president of retail development at HMSHost says the company is “very excited to partner with Sean John to develop its first travel retail store at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.”

“ Working with the design team at Sean John for this project has been a wonderful experience and since HMSHost’s goal is to make the traveler’s day better, we believe passengers are going to respond very positively to this exciting specialty retail venue,” she says.

In other HMSHost news…

Construction has begun on the company’s new food and beverage brands at Dayton International (DAY).

The restaurants, which will be opening through the fall and into early 2010, are part of a five-year contract extension awarded to HMSHost.

“The community indicated in our customer survey that they would like to have the restaurants amidst the gates so they did not have to walk back to the checkpoint for food and beverage,” says Iftikhar Ahmad, director of aviation for the city of Dayton, Ohio. “As is our practice, we responded by working with HMSHost to satisfy that need. We are happy to deliver that project today.”

Starbucks and Quiznos Sub are slated to open in the fall. Starbucks, known for its plethora of coffee offerings, as well as pastries, sandwiches and salads, will be housed in Concourse C, post-security. Quiznos, offering overstuffed subway sandwiches, grab-and-go salads and a “comfort food” menu featuring chicken noodle soup, corn chowder and chili, will be found post-security in Concourse B.

In early 2010, the 12th Fairway Bar & Grill will open its doors modeled after a European golf clubhouse. The full-service restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a full bar specializing in unique scotch selections. It will be post-security in Concourse C.

“Dayton travelers are certain to enjoy these enhanced food and beverage offerings,” says Stephen Douglas, vice president of business development for HMSHost. “We are very glad to continue our successful relationship with Dayton International Airport, and what better way to do so than by bringing new national brands that will make the traveler’s day better.”
