El Paso International (ELP) has named Antonio Marmolejo its assistant director of aviation development.
In his new role, he will oversee capital improvement projects, airport properties and leases, and administer department functions.
“I am excited and look forward to undertaking the responsibilities of the new assistant director of aviation development for El Paso International Airport,” Marmolejo says. “The airport has a tremendous staff. … Together we’ll work through challenges, especially during these trying economic times, by embarking on airport development projects and capital improvements in a progressive but fiscally responsible manner.”
Prior to his new position, he was the airport’s program coordinating, managing capital improvement projects and acting as liaison and representative of the Department of Aviation; he was also the assistant airport operations officer for one year, monitoring airport operations for safety, security, environmental and other operational requirements.
Before joining ELP, he was in the private sector providing airport management and technical expertise for airport master plans, facility planning, airport development programs and other issues nationwide.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in aviation management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and he graduated from an FAA-accredited aviation management program.
