HMSHost Brings Dining Options To Alaska, Ireland

July 29, 2010

HMSHost Corp. has opened two new restaurants: one in Alaska and one in Ireland.

At Anchorage International (ANC), Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse is now serving up its signature Humpy’s halibut tacos, as well as a variety of pub favorites such as buffalo wings, Alaskan king crab nuggets, shrimp peelers, and grilled beef, chicken, halibut and salmon burgers; soups and salads are also on the menu, and there is a selection of draught beers, cocktails and wine by the glass. It has been a local favorite since 1994.

“Delivering on their commitment to make the day better for our travelers, HMSHost has brought an outstanding new eatery that offers Alaska visitors and natives alike the local flavor they eagerly anticipate and enjoy,” says Debbie Herrick, properties manager at ANC.

Stephen Douglas, vice president of business development for HMSHost, adds: “Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse is a fun and fresh addition to the airport’s exceptional food and beverage options, giving ANC’s travelers a sense of place.”

Humpy’s can be found on Concourse B.

In Ireland, at George Best Belfast City (BHD), Harvest Market is a custom-designed restaurant featuring a menu of locally sourced produce in options from traditional home-cooked meals to stir-fry dishes. Fish and chips and beef and Guinness stew are on the menu, as well as deli sandwiches, baguettes and oven-baked pizza. Jenny Bristow of Take the Biscuit offers biscuits, and teas and coffees from Ireland’s S.D. Bell round out the menu.

“The new enhanced Harvest Market is a welcoming addition to the new departures lounge at George Best Belfast City Airport,” says Katy Best, BHD’s business development director. “We are confident that the extensive new food range and the new unique atmosphere, dedicated to a Northern Ireland ambiance, will be more than appealing to the 11,000 passengers per day that we welcome at the airport.”

Harvest Market joins two other recent additions, Bushmills Bar and Espression by Lavazza. At Bushmills Bar, travelers can find malt and blended whiskeys, along with international wines, beers and bar food favorites.

Espression by Lavazza is a coffee shop that also features pastries and sandwiches.

"When George Best Belfast City Airport awarded HMSHost the opportunity to develop their entire airside food and beverage offer, we responded with brands which matched their ambitions for this important and growing airport,” says Dawn Wilding, managing director for HMSHost Europe.
