January 20, 2012

HMSHost Corp. and joint venture partner PJLF Enterprises have opened Shula's Bar & Grill at Southwest Florida International (RSW).

“We’re glad that the new Shula’s Bar&Grill joins our roster of restaurants,” said Robert M. Ball, executive director of Southwest Florida International. “With its pre-security location, visitors and travelers alike can enjoy Shula’s flavorful steaks and extensive menu.”

The RSW Shula's Bar & Grill will be the restaurant's second airport location. The first opened in May 2011 at Miami International (MIA). The restaurant not only features wines from California, Italy, Chile and New Zealand, but the menu offers items such as filet mignon, New York strip steak, and appetizers such as crab cakes and blackened tenderloin tips.

"We are excited about growing our presence in the Fort Myers’ area with Shula’s Bar&Grill at Southwest Florida International Airport,” said David Shula, president of Shula’s Steak Houses.

Among those on hand to commemorate the grand opening was legendary, Hall of Fame coach Don Shula, Lee Ford and PJ Benton of PJLF Enterprises, Renee Tedesco of HMSHost Corp. and Lee County Commissioner John Manning. The restaurant is located in the pre-security area of the airport's main terminal.
