Marshall Retail Group opened District Market, a 5,200 square foot retail store at San Francisco International (SFO) in Terminal 3.
District Market is inspired by San Francisco’s district neighborhoods, offering an “urban shopping experience” comprised of five districts – hype, fresh, news, gift and fashion. Together, the districts form a marketplace featuring local, regional and national retail branded products in every area of the store.
For example, the “hype” district features San Francisco chocolatier Fave Chocolates and Benny Gold streetwear, as well as a rotating line of products made by various local artisans.
In the “news” district, in addition to tradition print media, travelers can use the Texture app, which offers on-demand access to hundreds of the most widely read digital magazines. Travelers can build their own libraries, receive personalized recommendations and read anywhere, even while offline.
“The extraordinary partnership we have with SFO and all of the local vendor partners allowed us to reach the goal of making District Market a destination in and of itself,” said Michael C. Wilkins, CEO of Marshall Retail Group. “Our internal team created a one of a kind experience that they can be proud of for years to come.”
