The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) has named Doug Kreulen as its new president and CEO, overseeing Nashville International Airport (BNA) and John C. Tune Airport (JWN). Kreulen has served as acting and then interim president and CEO of MNAA since July 2017.
Before that, Kreulen was MNAA’s chief operating officer, supervising operations, facilities maintenance, public safety, development, and engineering departments. Prior to joining the airport authority, Kreulen was director of operations for Huntsville International Airport.
“Nashville International Airport is the fastest growing airport of its size in the U.S., and having the right leadership at the top is imperative to our success,” says Bobby Joslin, MNAA board of commissioners chair. “Doug Kreulen has the skill set and experience that are needed at MNAA at this critical moment. An accomplished leader and project manager, Doug has the aviation, operations, strategic planning and overall command experience needed to guide Nashville’s airports through our major expansion and beyond.”
Kreulen replaces Rob Wigington, whose contract was terminated in September after an extended medical leave. According to published reports, Wigington has a pending lawsuit against the airport authority for wrongful termination and violation of federal employment laws.
